There has been much discussion recently about Las Vegas Raiders star receiver Davante Adams. The possibility of Adams being traded to the New York Jets to reunite with former teammate Aaron Rodgers has gained a lot of steam, especially with Rodgers’ recent comments.
Adams has not been shy about voicing his frustrations when he has felt it necessary, but has always shot down any trade rumors and maintained that he wants to remain with the Raiders. But now another Hall of Famer has given his opinion on what the star should do.
Randy Moss, who spent two seasons with the Raiders himself, believes that Adams has accomplished enough and made enough money that he should chase a ring, via Up and Adams on FanDuel:
“I don’t see why he shouldn’t. I really don’t see why he should not chase a ring. I think he made all his money, he made enough money, so I think for him to chase a ring, I mean, I chased one. A lot of players chase a ring when they have been let go of an organization. When I was let go by the Minnesota Vikings, I didn’t know what I was going to do or where I was going to go, and then I had an opportunity to go play for the Patriots.”
Moss would continue on, noting that he doesn’t see the Raiders competing with the Kansas City Chiefs while also wondering about a potential reunion with Aaron Rodgers on the Jets:
“I don’t know if the Raiders, hell they’re in the same division as the Kansas City Chiefs, so I don’t see a ring in their near future. So if he needs to chase a ring and get out of there. I mean what would he look like back with Aaron Rodgers, what would that look like.”
The Raiders have not made the playoffs in the two seasons since acquiring Adams, but the franchise has done a lot this offseason to improve the roster. The quarterback position remains a big question mark, however, which is why some feel Adams should be looking to move on.
Moss and everyone else are entitled to their opinions, but ultimately, Adams has repeatedly said he has no desire to leave the Raiders organization, so until that changes, he will stay in the silver and black.
Davante Adams believes Raiders have ‘dangerous weapons’
Not only is Davante Adams happy with the Raiders, but he truly believes that they will be greatly improved with some real firepower on both sides of the ball. Most notably the team added defensive tackle Christian Wilkins in free agency while drafting talented tight end Brock Bowers in the first round of the draft.
Adams spoke on it, saying that the Raiders have ‘dangerous weapons’ across the team that are pushing each other this offseason. With Adams and Maxx Crosby leading the way, the Raiders have a chance to surprise many this season, and the star receiver feels that will be the case in 2024.
