There has been a rumor swirling about running back Marshawn Lynch blowing off a meeting with new head coach Jon Gruden. Needless to say, it did not take long for Lynch’s agent, Doug Hendrickson felt the need to call out those that had spread any false notions.

In fact, it seems the fake reports may have had it completely wrong. According to Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Lynch and Gruden have met “multiple times” since the latter was brought on board:

Marshawn Lynch, Jon Gruden have met at Raiders headquarters on multiple occasions since latter’s hiring, per source familiar with situation. Been reported Lynch has blown off Gruden. Lynch’s agent Doug Hendrickson refuted notion Thursday on Twitter.

The initial reports obviously sent waves throughout the league given that these are two of perhaps the most prominent figures in Oakland. Furthermore, the Raiders have invested a lot in bringing both of them out of retirement to help take this team to the next level. That said, it was not a surprise to see Hendrickson so adamant about calling out the rumors.

It goes without saying that Lynch and Gruden will play a huge role in helping the Raiders bounce back into championship contention. With all the headlines the team has conjured up at this point, they can no longer afford to have any slip-ups along the way. So it is encouraging to see that both men have already started to get acquainted.
