The Las Vegas Raiders and Indianapolis Colts are two AFC teams heading into Week 17 looking for a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Las Vegas is without a doubt the more desperate of the two teams, with the Raiders needing to win its final two games in order to be playoff bound.

Unfortunately, the team took some massive hits this week regarding players being placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Casey Hayward, Denzel Perryman, and most recently Darren Waller were arguably the most significant blows. Still, thankfully, the team was able to get a couple of notable players cleared for this weekend’s game on the road, according to the Raiders’ Twitter account.

Although Mariota may not even see the field, it does give the team some insurance at the quarterback position if Derek Carr goes down with an injury or gets popped for COVID as well at some point between now and Sunday’s game.

As for Wright, the veteran linebacker will be a welcome sight for Rich Bissacia and company, with the linebacking corps being ravaged by COVID this week. The Raiders will be trying to put the clamps on one of the best running games in the NFL this season led by MVP candidate Jonathan Taylor and will need all the bodies they can get on defense to do it.

Fortunately for Las Vegas, the Raiders aren’t the only team dealing with missing players. The Colts will almost certainly be without star quarterback Carson Wentz, who was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list earlier this week.
