After coming off a thrilling overtime Thanksgiving win over the Dallas Cowboys, the Las Vegas Raiders came up short against a surging Washington Football Team in Week 13.

The Raiders lost a heartbreak of a game after the Football Team converted on a field goal in the final minute while Derek Carr threw a Hail Mary attempt short of the end zone that resulted in the defeat. Las Vegas has started to see injuries take a toll on the roster as they were without star tight end Darren Waller and lost Kenyan Drake in the middle of the second quarter due to an ankle injury.

The injury did not look good, and Drake was immediately ruled out. However, it seems the worst case occurred as Drake suffered a broken ankle and will be out for the remainder of the 2021 season, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network:

This is a terrible situation for Drake, who signed a two-year deal with the Raiders in the offseason and had become a solid complementary partner to Josh Jacobs. The running back has amassed 254 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground while reeling in 29 passes for 283 receiving yards and a score. While his numbers may not pop off the screen, he was a clear part of the offense and will be missed.

Las Vegas will have to rely on Jacobs and Peyton Barber to man the backfield with Drake now gone for the rest of the year. Pass-catching back Jalen Richard was recently placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list but will presumably have a larger role once he is eligible to return.
