In what was supposed to be a thrilling Week 3 matchup for the Oakland Raiders turned out to be a complete dud as the team was thoroughly outplayed by the Washington Redskins. The Raiders lost 27-10, but the game score is not indicative of just how bad they played all night.

Derek Carr was the main culprit of the team’s struggles, as he finished with only 118 passing yards to go along with one touchdown and two interceptions. Oakland’s offense was out of sync for the entirety of the game and Washington was able to capitalize on the silver and black’s inability to move the chains.

According to Scott Bair of NBC Sports. Jack Del Rio admitted the offense goes as far as Carr can take it:

I mean, we’ve obviously seen him play at a real high level. Tonight wasn’t one of those nights,” Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio said. “It started on the second play of the game, and I think it just kind of unraveled from there. We didn’t get a lot done with our offense and he’s the triggerman, makes it all go.”

The Raiders’ offensive line is lauded as one of the best in the league, but had trouble slowing down the Redskins’ pass rushers, making things difficult for Carr to assess his options. The most eye-opening stat, however, was that the Raiders failed to convert on a single third down, going 0-for-11.

In what was an uncharacteristically bad offensive performance, Oakland and Carr should bounce back soon. However, they draw their AFC West divisional rivals the Denver Broncos in Week 4.
