Raiders News: Isaiah Johnson Excited For Upcoming 2020 Season At Allegiant Stadium

The Las Vegas Raiders have a lot to look forward to as they have already added some very key pieces in free agency and still have the NFL Draft to round out their weak spots.

One player that is excited for the upcoming 2020 season is cornerback Isaiah Johnson. The now second-year player was drafted by the Raiders in the fourth round last year. 2020 will hopefully be Johnson’s first full season after suffering a facial injury last preseason.

He was only able to appear in five games last season, and then once again suffered an injury at the end of the year that forced him to undergo offseason back surgery.

For the 2020 season, Johnson stated that he has a goal of him and the Raiders having the best secondary in the NFL, via Raiders.com:

“My goal for the 2020 season, I want to be the best shutdown man, corner, that I can be so I can contribute towards the best secondary in the NFL. We got the pieces that we need to do it, that’s my goal, is to have the best secondary and to be the best corner that I can be for this team.”

The Raiders certainly have the pieces to become one of the best defenses in the NFL. Of course, their young defensive players will contribute to that, but the signing of Cory Littleton helped to push the team to the next level. The Raiders recently added yet another solid piece in safety Damarious Randall as well.

Perhaps the most exciting part of the Raiders’ upcoming 2020 NFL season is the move to Las Vegas. The Raiders transition has gone well so far, but anticipation still surrounds the unveiling of the new Allegiant Stadium.

Johnson has not yet been to the stadium in person, but is still incredibly excited for the Raiders to get started there:

“Don’t judge me, but I haven’t had the chance to go look at the stadium in person yet ’cause of everything that’s been going on, but what I will say, from the clips, the videos, the pictures I’ve seen, that stadium is crazy. We finna turn y’all up for years to come, so I can’t wait.”

Hopefully the coronavirus pandemic will be controlled by the start of the NFL season so all of the excitement over the Raiders can come to fruition of the field. Johnson and the Raiders have a lot to work to do, but as he said, have the tools to be great.
