In order to keep up with the competitive AFC West, the Las Vegas Raiders shocked the league when they landed Davante Adams in a blockbuster deal with the Green Bay Packers.

Adams and the Packers could not agree on a new deal, so they shipped him to Las Vegas, who instantly rewarded him with a lucrative five-year, $141.25 million contract with $67.5 million guaranteed. Adams is widely regarded as the best receiver in the NFL, making the Raiders one of the most exciting teams to watch out for during the 2022 season.

Aside from Adams, the Raiders also have Hunter Renfrow, who will be looking to build on his breakout 2021 campaign. Renfrow and Adams have been taking time off the field to get to know each other, and the former praised the latter for the consistency he’s displayed throughout his career via Adam Hill of Las Vegas Review-Journal:

“I’ve really enjoyed getting to know him,” Renfrow said. “He’s been so good for so long and just to see him every day and the way he works, whether he feels good or not, it’s kind of uncommon from a superstar, to be honest. He’s very, very consistent. That’s really what I’ve taken from him.”

Adams flashed early in his career, but things really took off once Jordy Nelson left the Packers and made him the de facto No. 1 receiving option for Aaron Rodgers. As a result, Adams has been named to five consecutive Pro Bowls and was named First-Team All-Pro for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

So far, all the buzz around the Raiders and Adams has been nothing but positive, and it truly feels like the franchise is finally turning a corner. With Adams in tow, the Silver and Black have their best shot in a long time at a Super Bowl, and it will be interesting to see how things all come together.
