The Las Vegas Raiders are having a season filled with drastic ups and downs while a playoff berth hangs in the balance. However, despite the team’s off-the-field issues and struggles on the field, Hunter Renfrow has emerged as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.

During Sunday’s win over the Denver Broncos, Renfrow joined some elite company in the franchise’s illustrious history. The Clemson product now has 92 receptions on the season, which means he joined Hall of Famers Jerry Rice and Tim Brown as the franchise’s only wide receivers to catch 90 passes in a season.

“It’s incredible,” Renfrow said. “Those are two of the best to ever play, especially for the Raiders. So it’s an honor to be mentioned with those guys, but it’s not about that. It’s about winning games for sure.”

Along with the remarkable feat of hauling in 92 passes with two games left to be played, Renfrow has racked up 949 receiving yards and six touchdowns. He’s quickly become Derek Carr’s favorite target in the passing game, with star tight end Darren Waller battling multiple injuries this season.

Waller currently has the franchise mark for receptions in a season with 107. However, if Renfrow continues to be Carr’s go-to receiver in the final two regular-season games, the 26-year-old could very well end up with the franchise record for receptions.

The Raiders will face two tough opponents in the final two weeks of the 2021 campaign, starting with the red-hot Indianapolis Colts in Week 17. Las Vegas will then end the regular season against the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers.
