Over the past few weeks, speculation has surrounded the upcoming matchups between the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers.

With the Oakland A’s playoff bound and currently sharing O.co Coliseum with the Raiders a scheduling conflict arose for the Week 5. The Chargers are scheduled to come to Oakland in Week 5, but talk of these teams swapping home dates started to circulate.

Reportedly, the home dates for these two teams won’t be swapped as expected according Scott Bair of CSNBayArea.com:

The Raiders and Chargers will not swap home dates to accommodate a potential Major League Baseball scheduling conflict, multiple sources confirmed to CSNCalifornia.com.

If the dates did change for Week 5, the Raiders would’ve started the season with four out of their first six games being played on the road.

Obviously, that’s not ideal for the Raiders, especially considering four out of the six are divisional games against the Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos.

Currently, the schedule stays the same, but there’s a chance the Week 5 date could get moved to Monday night. The Raiders and Chargers would share Monday with the New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons.
