The Las Vegas Raiders’ new home, Allegiant Stadium, is sure to be one of the most exciting new features of the city. Although not yet completed, the stadium already has some high profile events announced.

The Las Vegas Bowl will now be held at Allegiant Stadium as well as the Pac-12 Championship. With construction on pace to be completed in July of this year, news has come out about the stadium’s first major concert.

Garth Brooks has announced that he will be the first concert at Allegiant Stadium this August, via the country star’s official Twitter:

Brooks’ big concert is set for Saturday, Aug. 22. Tickets will go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. PT and will be available starting at $94.95.

Brooks is currently in the midst of a stadium tour, heading to Charlotte, North Carolina and Cincinnati, Ohio in May. He often wears a jersey of the city’s home football team, so Brooks might be one of the first celebrities to don a Raiders jersey in Allegiant stadium. Official Las Vegas Raiders merchandise will not be on sale until the week of the NFL Draft in mid-April.

Of course, there is a good chance the Raiders may have taken the field by that time. Although no schedule has been released yet, the NFL preseason will likely be underway already in August.

Brooks is one of the best selling artists in music history. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, he is the second best selling artist of all time at 156 million album sales throughout his career, with only the Beatles selling more.

While Brooks will be the first musical artist to call Allegiant Stadium home for a night, he certainly won’t be the last as more concert announcements are expected in the future.
