Super Bowl LVIII took place at the home of the Las Vegas Raiders, Allegiant Stadium, and saw their division rival Kansas City Chiefs hoist the Lombardi Trophy for the second straight year. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs took down the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime to become the first team to repeat since Tom Brady and the New England Patriots did so in 2003 and 2004.

Of course, the Chiefs have gotten a ton of attention all season long thanks to pop megastar Taylor Swift’s relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Swift was regularly shown during games, many would say too much, and there were even some who believed the NFL wanted the Chiefs to win as Swift’s appearances were bringing in revenue to the league, including one former Raiders player.

Former NFL linebacker Will Compton, who played his last season with the Raiders, took to social media after the Super Bowl, calling the NFL ‘fixed’ and ‘scripted’ after the Chiefs came out victorious in the most watched football game of all-time:

There have long been conspiracies about the possibility of the NFL being rigged and this Taylor Swift-Chiefs theory is just the latest. There is no doubt that Swift being at the games has brought in a ton of revenue to the NFL and it benefitted the league financially for the Chiefs to keep winning.

However, it simply doesn’t add up that the league could somehow rig the Super Bowl for the Chiefs to win, especially when looking at some questionable calls that went against Kansas City, including a bad spot on a Kelce catch that should’ve been a first down that ultimately led to a Chiefs punt.

On the Niners overtime drive there was a questionable defensive holding call that kept the drive alive, as well as a catch by fullback Kyle Juszczyk that was unclear and not even reviewed.

Perhaps some of this is Compton spending his last year with the Raiders who have plenty of reasons to think about the NFL rigging games, and possibly some hatred of the Chiefs is still there. But this is not one of those instances where the league is fixing games.

Davante Adams ‘really excited’ about Raiders hiring Luke Getsy as offensive coordinator

In terms of the current Raiders, the team is filling out their staff and looking to build on the momentum they had at the end of last season. The team has hired Luke Getsy as their offensive coordinator and star wide receiver Davante Adams is happy with the move.

Adams has experience working with Getsy during his time with the Green Bay Packers and expressed excitement about him running the Raiders offense, adding that he knows how his mind works and is looking forward to what he will bring to the team.
