Raiders News: Derek Carr Wants To Win ‘Multiple’ Super Bowls

The beginning of August signals the beginning of live football and another step towards the upcoming 2017 NFL season. As teams return to the field, fans will be interested in seeing how their squads look after adding new faces to the roster and sidelines.

The Oakland Raiders have been the center of attention for much of the offseason after being granted to permission to move to Las Vegas as well as luring hometown favorite Marshawn Lynch out of retirement. Perhaps the best news out of Oakland, however, was signing Derek Carr to a long-term extension and according to Will Reeve Jr. of USA Today, the quarterback made winning Super Bowls his career goal:

[To] win a Super Bowl, and not just one but multiple. That’s not just for me, that is for our city, for our fans, for my teammates, these coaches, all of us that are away from our family in this silly, little hotel for weeks on end,” Carr said.

The last time the Raiders won the Super Bowl was back in 1984 when the team was still playing in Los Angeles. The franchise is currently in a 33-year championship drought, but this current Raiders team represents the best shot the silver and black have at ending that streak.

Under head coach Jack Del Rio, Oakland has looked every bit of a young up-and-coming team and look poised to breakout this year. With Carr developing into an elite quarterback and leader, it appears the Raiders have finally cracked open their championship window.
