There is no doubt that the NFL is now a passing-focused league and having a top-flight wide receiver is a necessity. The Las Vegas Raiders undoubtedly have that in Davante Adams who has long been one of the best receivers in the NFL.

Even though Adams didn’t have his best season in 2023, thanks in large part to quarterback and head coaching changes with the Raiders, he still finished with 103 catches for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns. But in the eyes of the creators of EA Sports Madden 25, that was enough to drop his rating a bit.

Adams’ rating dropped from a 97 to a 94 with the Raiders star being the sixth-highest rated player at his position in the game, via ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

Last year’s version of the game saw Adams rank third behind Justin Jefferson and Tyreek Hill. Those two still claim the top spots in this year’s game, though Hill has now surpassed Jefferson. With the rise of CeeDee Lamb and Amon-Ra St. Brown in particular, their ratings took a massive leap that ultimately pushed Adams a bit lower.

That isn’t to say Adams isn’t on the level of the rest of the receivers on the list as he most certainly is. Prior to 2023 Adams was a First Team All-Pro three straight seasons and a Pro Bowler in six consecutive years. He is more than capable of bouncing right back and returning to the top-3 in terms of Madden ratings, something that would likely please the Raiders as that would mean he is dominating on the field.

Even though he is a couple spots lower, Davante Adams is still one of the best receivers in the NFL today. And these ratings should only serve as a little extra motivation for the Raiders leader to remind everyone of that fact in 2024.

Raiders’ Davante Adams feels he is the best receiver in the NFL

While Madden 25 might have him ranked sixth, Davante Adams himself still feels he is at the top of the list of best receivers in the NFL today.

When asked to name his top-5 receivers in the league today, the Raiders star put himself at number one with CeeDee Lamb, Tyreek Hill, Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase rounding out the group.

Adams noted that he is the only receiver that’s been at the elite level for the last six years and in his mind he has yet to be usurped from that top spot.
