It’s early in his Silver and Black tenure, but Davante Adams has the Las Vegas Raiders buzzing during training camp.
Adams will be the centerpiece for the Raiders’ new-look offense, making them one of the most anticipated teams to watch when the 2022 season kicks off. Las Vegas has been starved for a deep playoff run, and a superstar like Adams could be the missing piece they’ve been searching for.
Most defensive backs have no shot defending Adams in single coverage, and a clip of the wideout leaving teammate Nate Hobbs in the dust made its way online via Bleacher Report:

However, Adams wasn’t happy about the video being leaked and defended Hobbs via his Twitter account:
This was supposed to be strictly for Chad given he asked for teach tape. He struggled to contain his enthusiasm which is why this clip is on social media. Never wanna put my teammates out there like that…Nate is one of the best young DB’s I’ve been around.

Adams coming to Hobbs’ defense is an example of his leadership, and that kind of gesture goes a long way in the locker room. However, it’s also worth noting that it’s just one rep, and Hobbs should still be considered a bright up-and-comer for Las Vegas.
Offensively, the Raiders should be able to go toe-to-toe with any team in the league, but the question mark is how well they hold up defensively. Hobbs could end up being one of the more important pieces of the defense, so his sessions against Adams will be crucial to helping him get prepared.
