The Chandler Jones saga continues to hover around the Las Vegas Raiders despite being two weeks into the regular season and the veteran defensive end not being around the team. Whether Jones returns to the team at any point this season seems completely up in the air.

Of course, this all started a couple of weeks ago when Jones unleashed a rant on Instagram directed at the Raiders and particularly head coach Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler. Jones says the team banned him from the practice facilities and claimed he would not play for the Raiders as long as McDaniels and Ziegler were there.

A later Instagram video showed Jones with a member of Las Vegas’ Crisis Response Team which he claims the team sent to his house. There were also screenshots of conversations between Jones and McDaniels shared by the veteran.

The latest post of Jones doesn’t blast the Raiders as the prior ones, though it did bring about concerns from some as Jones posted a picture of himself in which he looked far smaller than his normal playing weight via Raiders Beat.

In the latest post not only does Jones look very slim, but he also claims the Raiders wouldn’t allow him to work out at the facility because he wore a hoodie. There would then be another issue on Twitter as Jones claimed that he was fostering the daughter of an “important man” because she was a victim of sexual abuse. The Raiders veteran would later claim that he was hacked and apologized for the tweets:

The entire Chandler Jones situation remains concerning and something that should be handled in private. However, Jones has continued to make posts on social media making many worried about his overall mental health. That remains the top priority, and hopefully, the team is working with him to get whatever help he may need.

This story continues to have more twists and turns, but hopefully, it comes to an end soon as no one is benefitting from this playing out in public. While the Raiders would love to have Jones on the field, this is far more important than any game. Hopefully, things will die down, and both the Raiders and Jones will be able to move past this saga and focus on more positive things.
