The NFL coaching carousel is in full swing and one of the teams looking for a new head coach is the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Raiders were hoping that Pete Carroll would help shift the culture and get the organization back to its winning ways, but the exact opposite actually happened and he was fired after one year.
Because of how poor the Raiders’ 2025 season was though, they landed the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, which is very enticing for head coaching candidates. The Raiders are widely expected to draft Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza, giving them a franchise-changing signal-caller to build around for years to come along with their other talented young players like Brock Bowers and Ashton Jeanty.
Now, they just need a head coach to help develop Mendoza, and their top target all along has been Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.
Kubiak is currently preparing for the Super Bowl, but the Raiders got a chance to interview him for a second time over the weekend and it appears things went well. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Raiders are expected to hire Kubiak as their next head coach after the Super Bowl:
The Raiders are zeroing in on Klint Kubiak as their next head coach, sources tell me and @RapSheet.

This is a great hiring for the Raiders as Kubiak is known to be one of the bright young offensive coaches in the league. The Arizona Cardinals were also hoping to hire him, but it appears he chose Las Vegas instead, likely because of their quarterback situation and young talent.
Kubiak, who is the son of former NFL head coach Gary Kubiak, has built up an impressive resume over the years for a 38-year-old. His coaching career began in 2010 and he got his first chance as an offensive coorditor in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings in 2021. He then served as the Denver Broncos’ passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2022, San Francisco 49ers’ passing game coordinator in 2023, New Orleans Saints’ offensive coordinator in 2024 and then the same role with the Seahawks in 2025.
Kubiak got the chance to work with former Raiders quarterback Derek Carr with the Saints in 2024 and then helped get Sam Darnold and the Seahawks to the next level this season.
Klint Kubiak hiring to become official after Super Bowl
For a team that has had five different head coaches in the last six years, the Raiders are hoping they found their long-term answer with Kubiak once the hiring becomes official after the Super Bowl.
At that point, Kubiak can begin putting his staff together for the 2026 Raiders season.
