The NFL recently released their top 100 players list going into the 2020 season as voted on by the players, and two Las Vegas Raiders players in Darren Waller (99) and Josh Jacobs (72) made the cut.

Both Waller and Jacobs are coming off breakout seasons in 2019, making their respective debuts on the list.

Waller’s journey has been well-documented as he went from being released by the Baltimore Ravens and almost out of the league to starting for the Raiders.

He ranked second in receiving yards by a tight end in 2019 with 1,145 on 90 receptions to go along with three touchdowns. He also made strides blocking, quickly becoming one of the most complete tight ends in the league.

The Raiders plan to get Waller involved in the offense even more in 2020, so look for him to build off his breakout 2019 season.

The Raiders drafted Jacobs in the first round in 2019 and he quickly proved why that was a good pick by becoming the first rookie in franchise history to rush for more than 1,000 yards.

Jacobs carried the ball 242 times for 1,150 yards and seven touchdowns in just 13 games while also adding 20 receptions for 166 yards.

What makes Jacobs so great is his ability to run over defenders while also outrunning them in open space, and it is clear that he is quickly earning the respect of players throughout the league.

It was interesting to see that Rodney Hudson and Trent Brown were both left off the list considering they are both arguably the two best players in the league at their respective positions. The Raiders’ offensive line was one of the best in football in 2019, and that is expected to be the case again in 2020 when the team as a whole should be much-improved.
