The Oakland Raiders announced on Tuesday that they have signed free agent wide receiver Montay Crockett and cornerback Isaiah Langley. In corresponding moves, the Raiders have waived defensive back Makinton Dorleant and safety Montrel Meander.
Crockett was originally signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2017 out of Georgis Southern. He has also spent time with the Houston Texans, Arizona Cardinals, Washington Redskins and Jacksonville Jaguars, being elevated to the Jaguars’ active roster prior to Week 17 of the 2017 season although he did not appear in a game.
Langley also enters the NFL as an undrafted free agent, although this will be his rookie season after playing four years at USC.
In 33 career games for the Trojans, he had 105 tackles (79 solo), one interception and 13 passes defended. In 2018 he had a career-high 46 tackles to go along with his only career interception and six passes defended.
The Raiders have undergone a complete overhaul of their roster this offseason, but both Crockett and Langley both face an uphill journey if they want to make the roster. They will have some time to show what they can do during offseason workouts and training camp though.
Oakland has made significant additions to both their receiving corps and secondary this offseason, adding wideouts Antonio Brown, Tyrell Williams, Ryan Grant, J.J. Nelson and Hunter Renfrow to the mix as well as safeties Lamarcus Joyner and Johnathan Abram and cornerback Trayvon Mullen.
