The future of the Oakland Raiders as far as where they will be located in the future is still in question, as it looks as if they might be headed to Las Vegas.

Oakland has made a surge in recent weeks to keep the Raiders though, as led by NFL Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, an investment group has worked with the city of Oakland and mayor Libby Schaaf to come up with a funding plan to build a new stadium to keep the team from moving.

Las Vegas and the state of Nevada also passed a bill to build a stadium for the Raiders though, so owner Mark Davis may have a choice to make on his hands.

If he wants to move the team to Las Vegas it would require the NFL owners to vote on it, which would likely happen this coming January. But if Oakland is willing to build a new stadium, it may be in his best interest to keep the team in Oakland, the place the Raiders have called home for over 20 years.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Davis and the rest of the Raiders brass are meeting with NFL officials and Lott’s group on Monday in the Bay Area to talk about the new Oakland stadium proposal:

NFL officials and members of the Raiders brass are meeting Monday with the Lott Group to discuss the proposal to keep the team in Oakland, according to people familiar with the process. The meeting is expected to include Fortress Investments, as well.

The NFL also has a league meeting in Dallas on Wednesday, where the issue is expected to be addressed so Davis and the NFL could come to some sort of decision on what they plan to do in the coming days.
