NFL Free Agency Rumors: Raiders Agree To Terms On Contract With Wide Receiver Nelson Agholor
Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

All offseason long, the Las Vegas Raiders have been in pursuit of a wide receiver to give Derek Carr another weapon to throw to in addition to Tyrell Williams, Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller.

While wide receiver is perhaps their biggest need, the Raiders’ main focus in free agency to this point has been improving on the defensive side of the ball.

There are big-name name receivers like Robby Anderson still available on the free-agent market, but reports indicate that the Raiders will likely use one of their two first-round draft picks on a receiver instead.

That decision makes sense considering there are dozens of talented receivers in the draft, and the Raiders should have their pick of the litter with the No. 12 overall pick if they decide to go that route.

Las Vegas needs more than just one receiver though, so it appears they have gone to the free-agent market to add some depth as well with the signing of former Philadelphia Eagles wideout Nelson Agholor, per Jerry McDonald of the Bay Area News Group:

The deal with Kush also adds depth to the Raiders’ offensive line, but it was already reported by Kush himself earlier in the morning.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Raiders will be getting Agholor at a huge bargain:

Agholor has had an up-and-down career since being drafted in the first round by the Eagles in 2015 out of USC. He is coming off one of his worst seasons, hauling in 39 catches for 363 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games. His best year was in 2017 when he had 62 catches for 768 yards and eight touchdowns.

While he has had problems with drops throughout his career, Agholor will likely slot in as the Raiders’ No. 4 receiver, which gives Las Vegas a ton of upside at the position.
