NFL Free Agency Rumors: Former Raiders Quarterback Mike Glennon Signing With Jaguars

The Las Vegas Raiders roster has undergone a number of changes this offseason, and a big area of focus was the quarterback position.

While the Raiders ultimately did not replace Derek Carr as their starter with Tom Brady or any of the other available options, they did bring in a high-profile backup in Marcus Mariota.

Additionally, the organization decided to keep Nathan Peterman to continue developing him, waiving their other young quarterback in DeShone Kizer.

With three quarterbacks still in the organization, there was no more room for last year’s backup, Mike Glennon. At just 30 years of age, Glennon is certainly a capable backup in this league, and it appears he has found a new job. According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Glennon is signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars:

The Jaguars have a young starting quarterback in Gardner Minshew, so bringing an experienced backup like Glennon on board makes a ton of sense for them.

In six NFL seasons, Glennon has played in 29 games, starting 22 of them. He has bounced around the league a bit in recent years though as Jacksonville will be his fifth team in the last five seasons. That can serve as a positive though considering he has had the chance to learn under some of the brightest minds in the sport, putting him in a good place to success if his number is called with the Jaguars.
