The Oakland Raiders announced on Wednesday that they have signed former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Ryan Grant. The terms of the contract were not disclosed, but it is most likely a one-year deal.
The 28-year-old was a fifth-round pick of the Washington Redskins in 2014 out of Tulane and spent four seasons in Washington before going to the Colts in 2018. The Raiders had interest in his last offseason, bringing him in for a meeting although nothing came of it until now.
In 78 career games, Grant has 119 receptions for 1,319 yards and seven touchdowns. His best season came in 2017 with the Redskins when he caught 45 balls for 573 yards and four touchdowns.
Playing for the Colts with Andrew Luck as his quarterback last season, Grant appeared in 14 games and had 35 receptions for 334 yards and one touchdown.
Raiders quarterback Derek Carr will have a completely new set of weapons to throw to in 2019 after trading for Antonio Brown and signing wide receivers Tyrell Williams and J.J. Nelson in addition to Grant. They also added a tight end in Luke Willson and running back in Isaiah Crowell.
That doesn’t even include what the Raiders will add in the upcoming draft, where they have eight total picks with three being in the first round.
