After a lot of speculation and seemingly a lot of reluctance on the part of team owner Mark Davis, the Las Vegas Raiders have finally decided to part ways with head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler.

The team didn’t waste any time after the NFL trade deadline came and went on Halloween, with the team parting ways with the two after a 3-5 start to the 2023 campaign.

Davis sent out the following press release to announce the firing of McDaniels and Ziegler.

“After much thought about what the Raiders need to move forward, I have decided to part ways with Josh and Dave.  I want to thank them both for their hard work and wish them and their families nothing but the best,” said Las Vegas Raiders Owner Mark Davis.

Despite the best efforts of the former New England Patriots dynamic duo, the Raiders haven’t been able to take a step forward this season, even though they seem to have the talent on both sides of the football to do so.

Every passing week was a cringeworthy effort from McDaniels on the sideline, as he clearly misused some of his best players, especially on offense, which is supposed to be his forte.

Pro Bowlers like Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow and Josh Jacobs have become increasingly frustrated with the roles, which appears to have been enough for Davis to finally pull the plug on the McDaniels/Ziegler experiment in Las Vegas.

It’s being reported that linebackers coach Antonio Pierce will be the interim head coach moving forward as the search for a new leader on the sideline and decision-maker in the front office begins for the storied NFL franchise.
