The Las Vegas Raiders did well to revamp their roster ahead of the 2024 season after a strong finish to last year.

Las Vegas, under then-interim and now permanent head coach Antonio Piece, finished the 2023 season 5-4, which bodes well for their future success. Pierce demonstrated a clear ability to get buy-in from the locker room, and the players have had high praise for the first-time head coach so far this offseason.

Off the field, the Raiders and team owner Mark Davis have been trying to bring future NFL Hall of Famer Tom Brady into the fold after the two sides struck a deal on a minority stake in the franchise last offseason. To date, the deal has yet to be formalized because it’s still pending a vote from the other NFL owners.

Unfortunately for Brady, it looks like his dream of being an owner of an NFL team will have to wait via Mark Maske of The Washington Post:

The initial agreement between Brady and the Raiders reportedly involved tying the equity transfer to employment. However, NFL owners voted against giving employees equity in teams thus, the issue shifted to the level of discount Brady would receive in purchasing a stake.

There are also well-founded concerns about Brady’s broadcasting agreement with FOX Sports as he would be given information on other teams to help his preparation for games. It would be a clear conflict of interest for Brady to be both in the booth and serving Las Vegas in any capacity.

As the situation drags on, it seems less likely that Brady will get the minority ownership he’s been wanting. In order for the owners to vote, Brady might need to choose between his commitment to FOX Sports and owning a part of the Raiders.

Raiders’ Jack Jones calls Patrick Mahomes NFL GOAT over Tom Brady

Brady is an NFL legend after winning seven Super Bowl titles during his career, though Patrick Mahomes is quickly catching up to him after winning his third ring this past season. The debate ultimately might come down to Brady and Mahomes, but Raiders cornerback Jack Jones believes Mahomes has already reached GOAT status.
