Raiders Sign Wide Receiver Keelan Doss To Reserve/Future Contract

The Las Vegas Raiders announced that they have signed a familiar face in wide receiver Keelan Doss to a reserve/future contract.

Doss originally signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of UC Davis in 2019. Despite an impressive training camp and preseason that year, he wound up being cut just before the start of the season.

Instead of joining the Raiders’ practice squad, the Oakland native decided to sign onto the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad. He only stayed there for a week though before signing to the Raiders’ active roster after the team decided to cut Antonio Brown.

Doss only saw limited action in his rookie season, and then he spent the entire 2020 season on the Raiders’ practice squad, only being elevated for one game in Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills. Appearing in a total on nine games in his NFL career, Doss has hauled in 11 receptions for 133 yards.

The Raiders have a lot of uncertainty at the wide receiver position moving forward, so Doss will have a chance to impress the coaching staff this offseason in hopes of earning a roster spot. Las Vegas’ top receiver from 2020, Nelson Agholor, is currently a free agent and although the organization has expressed interest in bringing him back, that remains to be seen.

Additionally, Tyrell Williams could be cut this offseason without any salary cap repercussions, so there is no doubt that is something the Raiders will consider as well to open up another roster spot.

Doss adds to a receiving corps that has some talent but is very young, including players like Henry Ruggs III, Hunter Renfrow and Bryan Edwards.
