2020 NFL Schedule Release: Raiders To Open Up Allegiant Stadium In Week 2 Against Saints On Monday Night Football

It was known who the Las Vegas Raiders’ opponents will be in 2020, but it is also now known when they will be playing them as well as the NFL officially released the entire 2020 schedule.

The Raiders will be beginning a new era at Allegiant Stadium in 2020, but they will have to wait until Week 2 to open it as they will be traveling to take on the new-look Carolina Panthers in Week 1. The Panthers are also beginning a new era with Matt Rhule as head coach and Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback, which should prove for an interesting challenge to begin the season.

Allegiant Stadium will host its first NFL regular-season game in Week 2 when the Raiders welcome Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints to town on Monday Night Football. The Saints are coming off three straight division championships, making for another difficult opponent.

That is the first of four Primetime games for the Raiders, all of which will come at home. The other three are against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football in Week 7, the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football in Week 11 and the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday Night Football in Week 15.

Other notable games on the Raiders’ 2020 schedule include traveling to take on the New England Patriots in Week 3, hosting the Buffalo Bills in Week 4 and traveling to take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 8.

Due to uncertainty with the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the NFL decided not to schedule any division games in the first four weeks in case they need to be cancelled or pushed back. Because of that, from Weeks 5 to 11, the Raiders will have four division games, which will be an important part of their schedule.

It was also revealed that the Raiders will be traveling to take on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1 of the preseason and then traveling to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2 before hosting the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams in Weeks 3 and 4, respectively. All preseason dates are to be determined.
